Deacon David Provo was born in North Preston and is the son of Lorraine Provo. He is the husband of Ronalda (Brooks) Provo, and God has blessed their union with six children. In 1984, David was baptized and born again, beginning a lifelong journey of faith and service. Throughout the years, he has held numerous positions within the Kingdom of God, including currently serving as Trustee and Formerly, Moderator of the African United Baptist Association (AUBA).
As a dedicated member of Saint Thomas Baptist Church, David has served faithfully in many roles, including usher for seven years, Assistant Chairperson of the Finance Board, District 1 representative for the Provincial Baptist Youth Fellowship (PBYF), and Past President of the Saint Thomas Baptist Church BYF, a position he held for six years. He has also served as Chairperson of the Trustees and was an active member of the Focus Gospel Theater Group and the Young Boys Choir, among many other ministries.
Deacon David’s God-given talents have allowed him to perform in numerous dramas, including Black Voices, Think on These Things, and Unworthy Delilah. After more than seventeen years of faithful service, he officially accepted God’s call to the Office of Deacon and was ordained by Rev. Calvin G. Symonds on June 11, 2000.
Deacon David conducts New Life classes for new converts and assists the pastors with prayer services and Sunday morning worship. He also visits those unable to attend services in person and mentors young men within the community. A dedicated witness for Christ, Deacon David Provo is a humble, faithful servant and a respected role model, whose calling as a deacon reflects God’s divine approval and purpose upon his life.
